In a world where legends come to life, a gypsy woman made a deal with the moon to have a man of her own. However, the moon demanded her firstborn son in return. Despite the gypsy woman's efforts to deceive the moon by fathering a child with a non-gypsy man, the moon was not fooled and cursed the child with albinism.

Feeling dishonored, the gypsy woman's husband confronted her and in a fit of rage she abandoned her son in the mountains. The moon, in its desire to be a mother, watches over the boy on full moon nights, soothing his cries with a gentle rocking cradle.
