Biografía de Protest The Hero
Protest The Hero have been together since they were just 14 years old. Now, four years later, they have done more than most bands twice their age in that time frame. PTH have released two records on Canadian punk rock label 'Underground Operations' and have toured relentlessly while battling their high-school schedule, forfeiting their summers and weekends to make a name for themselves on the road. Their music easily embodies the intricacies of Iron Maiden, advanced complexities of modern day screamo, and the melodic sense and song structure of all your favourite metal anthems. Protest The Hero's reissue of their debut record, "A Calculated Use Of Sound" as part of the 'Underground Operations 2004 Fall EP Series' was highly anticipated by serious music fans across the country. Recently on the road as direct support for Sum 41's National Canadian tour, Protest the Hero can easily look back upon their artistic development, exposure and the remarkable feats that have landed them where they are today. PTH was chosen to play at the 'Steamwhistle Indie Club' live at the Edge 102 studios in Toronto and the show has yet to see an audience the size of the one that Protest the Hero drew in the summer of 2004. On the strength of their independent release alone, PTH was awarded 'Best Metal Band' at the 2004 Indie Music Awards during Canadian Music Week in Toronto. PTH have been interviewed for Muchmusic's 'The Punk Show' several times, hosted Edge 102's Epitaph sponsored, 'Punk-O-Rama' and because of their superior musical talent at such a young age, members of Protest the Hero were featured in commercials for 'Long & McQuade Music Store' nationwide.
The day that Protest The Hero finished their final grade 12 high-school exam they left on a three week headlining tour from Toronto to Halifax entitled 'Cock the Vote', not only to spread their name, but to also raise voter consciousness for the upcoming Canadian election. As well, in the past they have toured with Raised Fist, Bigwig, Choke, Death By Stereo, Alexisonfire, Sum41, No Warning, Closet Monster, and even Korn and Limp Bizkit. (?!) . Protest The Hero's work ethic measures equal to their intellectual knowledge and use of mind shattering technical guitar riffs with sing-a-long choruses. The world needs more intelligent well-spoken youths that will surely destroy everything that crosses their paths.
