Horace Wimp finds himself in a cycle of being late and in trouble, never having experienced love or companionship. But a mysterious voice urges him to take charge of his life and find a wife. Nervously, Horace musters the courage to ask a pretty girl out on a date, and to his delight, she agrees. Encouraged by the voice from above, Horace pursues a relationship with the girl and eventually proposes.
